TEXAS HIGH PLAINS
Located at a higher elevation in West Texas, the High Plains is one of the state's most important premium grape-growing regions. Warm days, cool nights, low humidity, and well-draining sandy soils produce balanced fruit with concentrated flavors and natural acidity. The combination of elevation and large day-to-night temperature swings helps maintain freshness while achieving full ripeness, making it especially well-suited to Teroldego, Mourvèdre, Sangiovese, Picpoul Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Cinsault, and Grenache.
TEXAS HILL COUNTRY
The Hill Country offers a different expression of Texas wine, with rolling limestone-rich terrain and a warmer, more varied climate. One of the most recognized wine regions in the state, it produces grapes with strong regional identity and real approachability. Tannat, Mourvèdre, Vermentino, Picpoul Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Souzao, Semillon, and other Mediterranean and Rhône varieties all thrive here, producing bold, expressive, food-friendly wines.
