THE RVB STORY

RVB has grown from two decades of winemaking, advocacy, and community building, driven by a stubborn conviction that Texas wine deserves better. Through mentoring emerging winemakers, lobbying for the industry, and championing the potential of Texas-grown fruit, John Rivenburgh has been part of a force shaping our region’s wine culture. Today, RVB brings together five initiatives under one roof: The Wine Incubator, Rivenburgh Wine, Kerrville Hills Winery, LJ Vineyard, and Meredith Margaret Wines.

Who is John Rivenburgh?
John Rivenburgh oversees all brands under RVB, and has been shaping the Texas wine industry since 2006. A sixth-generation San Antonian with roots in ranching, sales, and entrepreneurship, he didn't arrive at winemaking by accident. He built a construction company in his twenties, sold it, and eventually followed a long-held conviction that Texas wine deserved a serious champion.

John has helped establish over 30 wineries across the state, founded Texas's first wine incubator, and spent years lobbying for legislation that protects the integrity of Texas-grown wine. When this community needs a voice, he is ready to step up, and is a familiar figure to anyone who follows Texas wine.

John's achievements and awards speak for themselves, but his mission goes beyond the bottle. For John, wine is about community, agriculture, and pride in his home state.

Some words from our clients

“The Wine Incubator supported us when we needed it most.  When our winery
construction experienced delays, the Incubator family welcomed us, allowing us to
make our wines there with their support.  I'm very grateful to everyone there who
supported us during that time.”
— Barbara Lecuona, Siboney Cellars
“The Wine Incubator is like a family; it is beyond cool to work alongside other passionate winemakers and have access to experts every step of the way.
Commercial winemaking has its challenges, but the incubator community makes it feel easy (many hands make light work!). Overall, winemaking at The Wine Incubator is fun and rewarding, and The
Cause Urban Winery will always be grateful to John Rivenburgh and his incredible team.”
— JENNIFER ROSSI (Founder & Winemaker), The Cause Urban Winery
“Working with The Wine Incubator has been an incredible experience. Their knowledge, guidance, and hands-on support gave us the confidence to bring our vision to life and create wines we’re truly proud of. They made what could have been an overwhelming process feel approachable, and we couldn’t have asked for a better partner as we built
the foundation of our winery.”
— Karina Alexander, 187 North Winery
“There's not enough room here to relate the many services of the Incubator.  Beyond winemaking, the Incubator:

(1) Offloaded our brand new Willmes press with a giant crane, on site, at KVH, where served all wineries for two years.

(2) Installed 10 new
wine tanks at our new winery location two years later.  These Texans have heart!”
— Miguel Lecuona, Siboney Cellars
